Finding Faith, Gratitude, and Obedience in Difficult Seasons

Life is made up of seasons—some filled with joy and others filled with pressure, confusion, and moments that make you whisper, “It’s just enough… I can’t keep going.” Loving God and holding on to faith feels easy when everything is working in our favor. But when your world starts to crumble, when you feel outnumbered, overwhelmed, and surrounded with no way out… will you still choose gratitude?

When Complaining Comes First

Our natural reaction in hard times is often to complain. It happens before we even realize it. This always reminds me of the Israelites during the great Exodus. They doubted, they grumbled, they forgot God’s goodness—but God never forgot them.

He remained faithful.

He proved himself as a covenant keeper.

He provided food, health, and protection—even when they were disobedient.

Not even a shoe strap broke on their journey.

That’s our God! Amen!!

The Power of Obedience: The Wedding at Cana

At the wedding feast in Cana, when the wine ran out, the miracle didn’t begin with Jesus touching the jars. It began when the servants poured water into six barrels without questioning or complaining, with simple, pure obedience.

It was in that obedient act that water turned into wine.

Shift From Anxiety to Gratitude

When we face trials, the most powerful thing we can do is remind ourselves of God’s faithfulness. Think of every moment He provided, protected, strengthened, and carried you. Gratitude redirects your heart. It silences anxiety. It realigns your spirit with God’s goodness.

Obedience: What God Loves Most

In 1 Samuel 15:22, it is written:

“The Lord loves obedience more than sacrifices.”

Jesus Himself walked in perfect obedience to the Father. He knew His position, His authority, and His power. He didn’t need daily affirmation—once the Father spoke, it was settled. And in that confidence, He walked all the way to the cross for us.

There is nothing God asks of us that Jesus didn’t demonstrate first. He lived it, modeled it, and now simply calls us to follow—with bold faith, without questioning every step.

Bold faith pleases the Lord.

No matter what season you’re in, remind yourself daily of the goodness of God. His faithfulness is constant. His love is steadfast. And His presence never leaves you—especially in the moments you feel the weakest.
